The Mediterranean Institute for Advanced Studies (IMEDEA, CSIC-UIB) is pleased to announce the second chapter of its Science School, “Interdisciplinary Science for Coastal and Island Conservation in a Changing World.”
Join a one-week, residential science school designed for early-career researchers, with a strong emphasis on interdisciplinary research for the conservation of coastal and island socio-ecological systems.
The programme combines theoretical foundations with hands-on data analysis and field activities, providing participants with advanced tools to address key ecological challenges such as climate change, biodiversity loss, and sustainable resource management. Through a hybrid approach that melds lectures, practical sessions, and fieldwork, participants will gain the skills needed to study and manage iconic Mediterranean ecosystems.
The school will take place at the Lluc Sanctuary in the UNESCO-listed Serra de Tramuntana (Mallorca), offering an inspiring setting to explore coastal and island conservation from multiple perspectives.
